Weird question, but I'm really curious about this. I'm an M3 and like most other students I have the Cardiology III. I also see a lot of Cardio III's up on the floors. However, it seems like EVERY SINGLE anesthesiologist and crna I see uses the Master Classic II. Is there something unique about this scope that makes it well suited for anesthesiologists?

the anesthesiologist and crna in my hospital use a variety of stethoscopes. maybe its just your hospital

Better for sitting on in your scrubs' back pocket.

Honestly, I would get a cheaper Littmann. I've lost several scopes in the OR and I've had a few expensive and a few cheaper. Can hear just as good with the cheaper versions and I don't get quite as upset when I lose them.
