If anyone has applied to LIU Brooklyn, I would appreciate some help here! Has anyone checked their online application on LIU's website and noticed that there is a huge list of items that have "not been received"? I emailed admissions and they told me it was a mistake and that it would be corrected but the list of "missing" items has only gotten longer! Admissions told me that they have all my items, but this application checklist is annoying me!
 
It is fine. LIU has all your LOR,transcript, etc from PTCAS so you donot need to upload it again. but the computer doesn't know that so it list it as incomplete.
 
My status for each item is "Initiated." Is this what you have too, phonecard?
 
Yes, that is what it says on my application. I guess it says that on most people's application?
 
Yeah, I have the "initiated" status for pretty much everything down the line as well. =/
 
Regarding the personal statement, did you write a separate essay? Or did you use the same essay you used to answer the question on PTCAS? Not sure if it is advisable to attached the same personal statement. Please help.
 
You should write a different essay. For the LIU essay, be a little bit more broad and include why you want to go to LIU. What made you apply to their program, what parts of their program do you like? Why do you want to go to graduate school? You can include parts of your PTCAS essay, but don't copy it word for word.
 
Hey Everyone- Just got on here. Has anyone had an interview at LIU-Brooklyn yet? I have one scheduled for 12/2 and was wondering what to expect.

had one at NYMC this past weekend. Anything anyone knows please let me know! Thanks 🙂
 
What is up with the "you may enter up to 15,000 characters" statement for the essay? Right before that they say that the essay should be 500 to 1,000 words. 15,000 characters is a lot more than 1,000 words. I'm making my LIU essay about the same length as my PTCAS essay which was about 7 hundred and something words and under the 4500 character limit.

They may have meant 5,000 characters not 15,000, that seems more accurate to the 500 to 1,000 word limit. I don't know. I'm just going to make it about the same length as my PTCAS essay which was just under 4500 characters.

I feel kind of bad because I'm realizing that I'm kind of applying to some schools late even though their deadlines are not due, I'm seeing others talk about getting interviews when I am still just applying. I only up until some days ago applied to my 5th school but on that day I applied to 9 schools.

hey yeah i totally feel you. i thought i was applying early by getting all my apps in by nov 1st, but apparently not. i freaked out a little when i got on here and saw all the acceptances already. hopefully we will be ok. i sent my PTCAS app into LIU back in mid october but i just finished the supplemental app yesterday.

have you heard anything from LIU-Brooklyn yet? I have any interview there on Dec 3rd and was hoping maybe someone already had one and could give me an idea of what to expect...
 
also my LIU supplemental essay was also about the same length as my PTCAS essay, which was about 700 words too.

Wait I'm just realizing that you might be asking me about two different Long Island University schools. Are their two? The only one on PTCAS is the Brooklyn Campus. How do you have an interview if you only just finished the supplemental materials yesterday?

Nevermind I see you said "i sent my PTCAS app into LIU back in mid october but i just finished the supplemental app yesterday." I didn't think they'd give you an interview without the supplemental materials.
 
yeah i didnt think so either, but im pretty sure its a separate committee who looks at the supp application. I believe that app and essay is just to get into the general grad school at LIU, and yes it is LIU-Brooklyn so I think we are talking about the same place. So I am assuming the PT program is requesting the interview and the general grad school will look at the essay I sent in yesterday at a later date.

I emailed admissions. This was their response: "Please attach the same essay you submitted to PTCAS. We do not require 2 different essays."
 
Yeah I called them and they said the same thing. We can use the PTCAS essay.
 
I have an interview at LIU Brooklyn December 2nd. It's my first one so I'm nervous!
 
I esubmitted on September 27th and I got a call for an interview this past Friday.

Thank you for your response! Do you mind sharing your stats? You can pm me if you dont feel comfortable sharing them. I am a bit worried with regards to my gpa and gre. I dont have the greatest stats.

Pre Req GPA: 3.33
GRE: 151 verbal 152 quant. 4.5 AW

i currently live in chicago, but im originally from Buffalo, NY. what about you? I have done one interview so far, at New York Medical College. It wasn't so bad, I am supposed to hear from them today I guess. I heard LIU does interviews with 2 students at once and two professors at once, and they just ask questions back and forth, which to me is way scarier than a private interview. I am just going to try to prepare with all the usual interview questions and just try to be confident i guess haha!
 
I'm in NJ right now, but less than an hour away from the campus which isn't bad. Yea I read that too about interviewing two at a time, I feel like that's more stressful than one on one. Hopefully it goes well!

Make that three at a time; I have an interview for December 2, too. See you both bright and early!
 
I will be making the trip up the turnpike from exit 4 to the interview dec 2nd. anyone on the way wanna carpool?
 
Hi I already apply for MPH in liu Brooklyn but my my apllication status is empty and its not showing any checklist since 1 week and only seen that your application is in process since 1 week.so how can I see my apllication checklist online?
Please help me..
