Hello,

I received an invitation for a OT interview . Can anyone shed light on the format, How to prep for it ? Do I have to write an essay ?

Thank you

nrumy, I was wondering if you ended up attending an interview at LIU yet? I was just invited to attend an interview and was wondering about the format as well. All the information I have is that it will be done in "group format". I would really appreciate any information about the interview you might have.

Thank you! (And good luck!)

Has anyone heard back? I was wait listed and would like to figure out my chances.

Hello! I just received an invite to an LIU interview in three weeks. Was wondering how you all did last year and if you have any suggestions for me?

Thanks so much!

I was invited too! 🙂
Oh great! Tell me, I'm not sure I understand this program...It's a BS/MS Dual degree program but if we already have a BA can we jump right to the 3 year professional part?

I looked at the course sequence for the 3 years and it's all OT courses. I think you start the professional phase once admitted, meaning everyone starts at the same point and you end up with a bs/ms. Other programs that are entry level master’s programs are the same length. I think the only differences are you pay ugrad tuition for part of the program and then grad tuition for another part, and you get a bs/ms. I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Not yet. I dont think I have the grades for Downstate to take interest in me, but we'll see. I have an interview at Stony Brook next week though. I am happy to have 2 interviews so far. 🙂 What other interviews do you have?

I was super late with my Stony Brook application so I haven't heard anything from them yet... :/

When did you submit? There's still time to be invited to interview. I know they hold a round of interviews this month and in March.

You know what I found out today... I was so caught up in the downstate application process that I didn't realize I was still missing one prereq for Stony Brook - physics. They emailed me and reminded me that they start in June (which I didn't realize) and that all prereqs have to be completed by May.... so I don't know what to do!

I don't even want to go to Stony Brook, just thought it might be a safety school. Is it worth the $1000+ for the physics class when I don't want to go there? It's also a bit late to register for a spring class at this point. Ughhhhh

That sucks! I was in a similar situation except I had a little more notice. York added anthropology as a requirement, and I found out last semester. I added it to my spring schedule because I wanted to be able to apply to as many state/cheap programs as possible. I figured I was better off spending the $ now and investing the extra time/effort, in the hopes increasing my chances of getting into a state/cheap school this year. Hope this helps!
