Hey guys, I would like to know on avg. how much your school give you for living expenses.

I tried calling UDM finical aid office to ask, but the lady stated she does not know until the award letter it completed. She is a bit rude and would not even give a rough estimate. Please give me some figures especially anyone from UDM.

Ya, I never liked UDM's admission co-ordinators. They are rude and not trustworthy. But for Case, the cost of living that they have stated is $12,000.

if you buy the ADEA's official guide to dental schools they have everything listed pretty nicely.
but, for univeristy of detroit mercy it's listed as 15k per year

Yikes!! What kind of "room" do they expect you to get for 6578 per year, especially if you have a family? 😕

I am looking at a two bedroom for $610/ month. I think it is very good in a very safe area, but it is a bit far from school, 11 miles. 11 mile is a long way to drive in the ice and snow, but there does not seem to be much traffic. I order the for rent mag. and in general rent is about 600 for one bedroom. 18000 is an awesome. I can surely make due with that.

I throw away the ADEA handbook, very stupid. I thought all it had was admission stats.

Based on the information I was given during my interview at UDM they were given $14,519 for living expenses last year, which includes the amount given for the summer term. They also figure over $7,000 for books, instrament rental, equiptment, and fees. From what I've heard we won't use all of the 7K and can use the remainder for other expenses. How much we'll have left over I don't know yet. Midoc might be able to give us an idea.

This is what is listed in the student budget. I, of course, am not a very lucky person and am not getting all of it.
