I'm pre-med, and I want to know what the living situation is for most med students. Do most med students live alone? With roommate(s)? How did you find your roommates assuming you entered school not knowing anyone? What are your recommendations for finding housing/roommates?

i think this all depends on what school you end up going to. it's very variable.

Your living situation doesn't depend much on where you go-it depends on who's paying your rent... so I'll divvy up into three groups-

Group 1, Daddy's Little Doctorette: Lives alone in 3 bedroom condo with attached 2 car garage, as she cannot be expected to manuever her Lexus into a single parking space.

Group 2, Partnered and Loving It: Lives modestly in 1 or 2 bedroom apartment, with Sugar Daddy/Mommy who covers three-quarters of household expenses, allowing a better standard of living than Group 3. These ones tend to be dog owners and will socialize outside of the medical school.

Group 3: Poor Single Scum (about 90% of your classmates who came to med school straight out of undergrad) PSS has between one and nine roommates. Definitely shares a bathroom, possibly shares a bedroom. PSS attending school away from home tend to live with other med students (because your school will help you connect with others needing roommates).
