Hey guys, I'm starting school this fall and a friend of mine who's a rising M2 has told me he's looking for a roommate in the development where I want to live.

I love the idea of not having to gamble for a roommate (yet another time...). This kid and I are friendly, but we don't know each other THAT well. However, I think we'd be a pretty good match when it comes to living with each other. What kind of advantages and disadvantages would you say there are for living with an M2???

OP: I think you stand more to gain - advice about studying for classes, books, profs, the area etc etc.

If you want to live by yourself then live by yourself. If this guy is a friend of yours he'll give you advice anyway. I know far too many people with roommates who are miserable and who actively despise their roommates. Not having a roommate 1st and 2nd year was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
