Hi all! I’ve recently been accepted to Bristol (4 year) and LMU for the spring, but I’m having a hard time deciding. LMU has a fast approaching deadline, while Bristol gives me until April to decide. I’m from the US (northeast) and still waiting to hear back from several other schools.

I’m trying to weigh the pros and cons of each school, like location and curriculum. So far, I know that Bristol’s tuition is cheaper and they have an onsite hospital. If anyone has insights into what it’s like to attend either Bristol or LMU, I’d really appreciate it. What would you do if you were me? Thanks in advance for your help!

I would say go for the cheaper veterinary school, especially in light of the incoming administration and the possible changes to student loan offerings and repayment plans. If I were you, I would consider chatting with a financial advisor, if you can, and getting their thoughts. I would personally choose Bristol, though I would want to hear from someone in the financial sector about if the loans for foreign students are at a higher risk for being taken away than stateside ones. I'm not sure of the legalities or logistics of that, but it's one of the top topics in my head when I've been considering my own plans should I have to apply for a second cycle.

Curriculum wise, I have friends who attended Bristol and LOVED their time there. They are UK natives though and came here afterward to specialize. I do know a couple people who attended LMU and did have a decent experience with the curriculum but found the location to be challenging (very, very remote backwoods in TN). This may have changed as the people who attended were classes a few years back or more. I would also look at the NAVLE or national boards pass rate for each program and take that into consideration.
