Hi all! I am a current first year at UAGM in puerto rico. I recently got accepted at LMU-op which is actually in my hometown in florida. Really tempted to move back home but would have to start school all over. Wanted to know what others would do if they were in my shoes! any advice is appreciated, Thanks!

Haven’t ever transferred to a program where I would have to start all over. Thank goodness it is just one year. You will be closer to Home which it sounds like that’s where you want to be.

it may make more sense to move back home if that’s where you’re leaning towards financially and emotionally. Logistically, staying at the current program makes the most sense since you’re already there and 1/4 of the way done.

To have applied to a different program tells me that you’re unhappy with your current school, so imagine spending another three years there. You’ll come into the new program ahead.

This is just one opinion. Think about it deeply and ponder with care. It’s a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly. 💛

So you'd add another full year of tuition onto what you're already committed to? Financially, that's a poor decision and not one that I'd recommend. You're at an accredited program (functionally) already. Stick it out for your remaining 3 years. Per LMU-OP's website, their first year costs an estimated $86K.

Do not put yourself in a financial hole in order to be closer to your family by attending a program whose tuition is, IMO, predatory for what they offer. Your future self will not thank you.

The have their LORA and provisional accreditation. They have to graduate a class of students and have a successful NAVLE pass rate to formally become fully accredited. But students in the inaugural class are eligible to take NAVLE and graduate as if the school is fully accredited.
