So I'm applying to LMU and currently on the "program materials" section. LMU has a separate tab called "questions" that you have to complete in order for your application to be complete. The essay required has a word count longer than the personal statement and is basically the same thing. Are we supposed to come up with a different answer completely? Is it casual or do we spend a lot of time editing it? I'm just very unprepared for a secondary at this point!

Please ignore my response, I didn't realize until it was too late that I was looking at a medical school forum. Sorry!

anyone know what other schools do this?
I can't remember with certainty, but I think Des Moines COM may do this (I could be very wrong)?? I do know that LMU-DCOM does this in place of a secondary (pretty sure).

I actually didn’t apply to LMU because of this!

It's their secondary... I don't know why you're making it sound so complicated. I basically wrote a condensed version of my personal statement for it. The word count is longer to allow you all the space you want.... doesn't mean you have to use all of it.

I actually preferred doing it right away rather than having to wait and fill out a secondary - I knew it was done right away!

LMU, UNECOM and DMU are schools that asked additional questions on the primary. It's actually really beneficial to us because they pop the essay questions on the primary and do away with the secondary. I wish more schools would do this. There is no reason why schools can't tack on their secondary questions to the primary and then just add a link to pay the application fee.

In hindsight it was definitely silly and not a big deal, I just had it in my head that I wouldn’t be doing secondaries until July and freaked out. But thanks everyone for your comments 6 months later! (just kidding)
