Hi guys,

Im planning to treat my summer semester as any regular semester, meaning I will likely take 5 classes, 2-3 being science, and electives on the side. (15+ crds)

Do schools look down upon this?

Have you guys done this before? Is it common? Or do peopel usually take 1-2 max?

Last summer, I took only 2 classes, and I found I had too much time on my hands, and I regretted not taking more.

Anyways, my other question is... is it bad to take required classes for med school(Organic, Physics, etc) in the summer?

From what I have heard, some schools frown upon that because the classes in the summer are easier, but that is clearly not the case in my school.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Most people would not be able to handle all that work. But if you were bored with two classes last summer, then you probably should take more classes. Just don't overdo it.

I am playing to take 2 science class during summer but 5class seems too much... i thought 2 class is going to kill me..

I'm taking 8 credits this semester.. General Physics 1 & 2 with their respective labs.

Is that bad?

I don't know anything about how schools would look at doing this. From my perspective, if you have enough free time, you will be just fine taking the classes in a short period. However, I wouldn't take organic during the summer. Take the easier science classes in the summer if you can.

If it works for you, do it. Just make sure you can still perform well. I'm planning on a pretty heavy summer too. I know quite a few people who use the summer to get pre-req's out of the way. They're much easier to swallow in the summer if you ask me.
