Loan Distribution (timeframe)

Hey everyone,

I didn't see anything previously posted about this (recently at least). What kind of timeframe am I looking at for Stafford loans to be distributed? Will it be right before school starts or does it just depend on the school?

I am currently working and was wondering if I should just expect to work right up until classes start...

School-dependent. I'm guessing the latest you can expect a disbursement is the first day of classes. If your financial aid office is nice, they might give it to you a week or so beforehand.

Yay....lol. I was hoping to take 2-3 weeks off before classes begin and just hike the Appalachian Trail. Looks like I'll be finishing up my 2 week notice.
