Does anyone have any feedback on loan forgiveness programs? Like, is it worth it to work in an underserved population as a dentist? Do you have to guarantee a certain numbers of years if you do this?

For the NHSC loan repayment program, yes - it is a minimum of 2 years. They repay $60,000 for 2 years of service, as of now. They may increase the amount that they repay in future years. You have the option of working for more than the minimum of 2 years, obviously, and they will repay your loans for each additional year of service.

(This is for working in an area with a need score of 14 or more. If you work in a "less-needy" area, they pay you less....I think it's $40,000 for 2 years of service.)
