Hey! When my friends and I get our loan statements on our Stafford Loans, we all have 2010 as our "begin repayment date"! I thought you only get 6 months grace post grad....will this change when I graduate? Thanks, Steve

Super Steve,

Don't worry about the date for your repayment. You're federally assured the 6 mos grace period. Just call up the holder of your loans and ask them which date they have you graduating. Many times it is a simple clerical error. When I went from grad school to med school my loans went into repayment b/c they had not rec'd word that I was back in school. One simple phone call took care of it.

Hey Dr. J-
Hopefully, they won't figure it out! I'd love to wait until 2010. I'll actually have a decent income then!! I'm sure they will, though. Oh well- I'll probably just ride it out. Thanks for the info, Steve
