Hey guys! I am looking to take a few classes for grade replacement but thanks to my irresponsibility in college, I have really bad credit and need to take out a loan to pay for it. Does anyone have any loan recommendations they have used with some not so great credit? It would be much appreciated, thank you!

I see from your other thread that you plan on taking courses through UNE. They have a tuition payment plan through HigherOne that you might want to look into.

http://www.une.edu/tuitionpaymentplan - This page also has a number for their financial aid, I suggest calling them as they will most likely be best able to help you.

To answer the question in your other thread, how long it takes is up to you, the classes are self paced. If you want more info on UNE overall we have a thread going here:

You don't have to use loans. What can you sell on eBay? How about Etsy? Snow shoveling weather has passed, but now there are lawns to mow and cars to wash. Whose houses can you clean? Can you deliver some pizzas or wait tables? Hustle, my friend.

$1300 for a course is about 5 weeks, full time, at minimum wage, but you can do better than that. If you can make your time worth $25/hr after expenses, you can raise that money in a week or two. That is do-able. You just have to find customers who want to pay you to solve problems for them. There are a lot of people who'd rather give you $50 to mow their lawn than to do it themselves, even though it may take less than an hour to do a good job. Used equipment can be had for cheap or even free if you ask friends and relatives to donate to your cause.

I am not just giving idle advice, saying hey, kid, get a job. I'm speaking as someone who has paid down tens of thousands of dollars in debt. If you want your credit to be worth anything, focus less on where you can borrow more money. Quit digging a deeper hole.

How are you able to do that? It's stated on their main page they don't have a payment plan.

Well, the plan is technically through a 3rd party, so maybe they mean UNE itself doesn't have a plan. Although, if I had to guess I'd say the main page is just outdated, for some reason I will never understand schools and good websites just don't mix, the main page probably hasn't been updated since it first went online. When I signed up for my first class in march the page I linked to said that they had a payment plan, but when you used the link to the Higher One website they weren't listed as a possible school. Now the link takes you directly a page that lets you sign up for a UNE plan.

I should probably mention I haven't actually used a payment plan, so I don't know what the application process is like, but I know Higher One works with a bunch of colleges, so I'd hope it's fairly straightforward.

Why are you doing the grade replacement online instead of at your local CC/state university? Those online classes are really expensive.
