hey fellow worcester prospective students and all of other pharmacy students, I have questions about the loan,

1)Which loans do u think it is good to borrow? Any opinion? Because I saw "Signature Student Loan, MEFA Loan, Student EXCEL, and CitiAssist Loan, etc" on the financial aid paper i received. It seem to me that they ONLY put interest rate for Afforable PLUS Loan(which i cannot apply because I do not want to put right away) and Signature Loan.

2) Which private loans do you dependent student usually borrow the most?

3) How do we become indepedent? I am still 20 yrs old. Do we have to be 21 years old in order to claim indepedent? or how does it work? Because if you are indepedent, you are allowed to borrow federal unsubsidized MORE...

4) Worcester Massachusetts College of Pharmacy said "the cost of attendance is $49914", so does anybody know if they include the room+board+book+travel expense+tuition, etc? I will call the lady office tomorrow to find out but if you guys know the answer, please share with us students

I want to pay right after i graduate from college? Any loans are like those? Thank you guys for so kindly answer the questions~~~ 😳

If you go to MCPHS.edu and look under financial aid they have answers to most of your questions-it's in a downloadable packet as I recall. As for the cost of attendance, seeing as tuition is 34,500, I'm assuming that # you have is for expenses too, although I doubt travel expense is included...

Good luck. To find out all these quickly, call the fin. aid person at MCP. The one I talked to in Worcester was very helpful.

Hey- I spent about an hour on the phone with financial aid last month, so here is what I know..
1). I borrowed a student signature loan because it is the same complany that manages my undergraduate loans. My interest rate was 0% + prime begining when I graduate- but his amount varies on the credit of you and your co-signer if needed.

3) The only way to become dependent is if you were born before 1/1/83, or to be in an graduate program. Our program is classified as undergraduate until p2, so you will be considered dependent until August.

4) This cost is the most that you are allowed to borrow from the govt. or alternative loans. This includes all living expenses, tuition and fees.

All loans start payment after you graduate, and once you reach that point, you work with your company to figure out rates of repayment and such.

Hope this helps- if you have any other questions feel free to ask- I may or may not know the answer. 🙂

Anna,
So are you going to get the similar interest rate? If so, that's extremely good interest rate.

Pharmforme,
Have you decided which lender you would go for? Do most of them have the similar interest rate depending on individual's credit history? I am confused... Since Gov' loan can't cover the entire cost, I need to borrow about $12,000 per year from a private lender.

I have been on the phone with the financial aid lady as well. $49914 is the max that you can get from the school for tuition, books, housing etc. If you need more than that for cost of living you have to take a private loan. I took a sallie mae signature loan because that is where my undergrad loans came from. Good luck with it all!!
...oh and a bit off subject, does anyone know when we will get our book list?
