Im an undergrad student at a 4 year university and im registered to take classes for this coming summer. only problem is I dont have money to pay for these classes. My father is out of a job and my mom's credit is horrible and she told me that she doubts anyone will approve a loan with her as a cosigner. So i was wondering since so many people on this forum talk about loans. How can i get ANY type of loan without a cosigner? Is the federal plus loan only for graduate education. Please give me links or advice i dont have much time lol
thanks

Are the classes you want to take working towards a degree or are they just extra classes? It depends on the school, I ran into this problem last summer when I wanted to take a biochem class (not working towards a degree). I was accepted into the school but could not get approved for government loans, bank loans, or private loans. This isn't the case for all schools though. I would call their financial aid office and explain your situation! Good luck hope it works out!

Its a shame that the govt got rid of summer pell grants but they do still offer stafford loans.
1. Fill out a financial aid application online
2. Go to the financial aid office at the college you will be attending and see if they require anything else for summer financial aid (They will probably have their own financial aid app)
3. Sit and wait

Any questions should call your schools financial aid office
Also google stafford loans

No cosigner is needed for these loans.
Be careful with loans young man.
