Hi all

Does anyone know if we will be able to get some living expenses as well? If yes, How much is that? Can we get how much we would like to? Since I am married, I just wanted to figure out how we should deal with our living expenses while at school.

Thanks,

Check Doc Toothache's excel doc on Cost of US Dental Education or something if you don't have the ADEA guidebook. It tells you the approximate breakdown each school has calculated per year, and that's how much you will be allotted via loans. If you tell me what school you're considering I could look it up for you in case you can't find his document.

Also, keep in mind, that the loans schools offer are for "you", and not for a spouse/partner or children.

But yes, you will get money for living expenses. Probably around $20-30k-ish, per year, depending on the school.

Each school has a financial aid budget they will give you, it includes a certain amount for living but it is only meant to cover one person not your whole family. So you will most likely need some extra help from somewhere if you intend to support a family on loans alone.

Best advice is to ask the particular school what your options are.
