Is there anywhere online to find out where our local dentists graduated from?

1. Ask them
2. Search for their name or practice online

A lot of schools don't keep track of where the dental graduates go.

Your insurance company does keep track of that. You can ask them. Also, try 1800-dentist.

Just like how BU and NYU kick out half their classes? 😉

Hi Steve,

I really value your posts but dont appreciate it when you put certain schools down without having a clear view of the entire situation. So, please let me elaborate on your NYU comment. There are 4 ways to get kicked out of NYU and I think they would be the same for ANY dental school out there:
A. Academic dishonesty
B. Poor academic performance
C. Not being able to meet your financial obligations
D. Any combination of above

In regardrs to poor academic performance, NYU actually has a very generous policy. One can fail up to 3 classes in their first year and STILL make them up over the summer. If they dont still pass, a committee will evaluate his/her performance and they either recommend the person to retake the first year or vote them off the island. To my knowledge, no other school is this flexible. I think if someone fails 3 courses due to just slacking off and cant make them up, they dont belong to dental school. Dont you agree???

The average DAT is 18 for NYU: http://dentalstats.tripod.com/03-04.htm, How may of the 268 accepted students, would you say received a 16 or less on their DAT exam? Do you think those students can survive the dental school work load?

Perhaps, if the school accepts fewer students with higher DAT score then not too many people would fail their classes and get kicked out. Maybe NYU is set up this way just to fail people and get their money. If they really cared for your success, they would have been more selective.

Actually I wasn't knocking NYU- I was mocking Balance. He's the one who repeatedly made the claims about NYU. I actually have a rather decent opinion of NYU. 🙂
