Hi Steve,
I really value your posts but dont appreciate it when you put certain schools down without having a clear view of the entire situation. So, please let me elaborate on your NYU comment. There are 4 ways to get kicked out of NYU and I think they would be the same for ANY dental school out there:
A. Academic dishonesty
B. Poor academic performance
C. Not being able to meet your financial obligations
D. Any combination of above
In regardrs to poor academic performance, NYU actually has a very generous policy. One can fail up to 3 classes in their first year and STILL make them up over the summer. If they dont still pass, a committee will evaluate his/her performance and they either recommend the person to retake the first year or vote them off the island. To my knowledge, no other school is this flexible. I think if someone fails 3 courses due to just slacking off and cant make them up, they dont belong to dental school. Dont you agree???
