Locum OT rate?

I know it's whatever you negotiate. But without throwing out specific numbers on this public forum what are you guys negotiating for OT rate? No change? Specified dollar range above standard? 1.5x standard rate? What percentage over standard rate are you typically negotiating?

I'll go first my OT rate is only about 12% over my standard rate. I believe my standard rate is slightly above the local market but I keep thinking I should ask for higher OT. I do take 24 hour call so I'm thinking it's not unreasonable that my OT rate is not 1.5x, but maybe I'm getting hosed?

At my job, we sadly only get about a 9% increase for "OT" hours. But this isn't locums.

One of my partners was doing a bunch of cardiac locums and they were paying him $450/hr, guaranteed 50hrs, and nearly $800/hr for anything after 5pm.

I charge anywhere from 1.25x to 1.5x for OT

I worked one place where there was no OT, but the daytime hourly rate was high enough it didn’t matter to me. Worked 50-60hrs a week. I got screwed on the call pay structure - learned my lesson.

Another spot I work increases hourly pay by 6% after 5 and another 6% after 7. I didn’t negotiate this, it is the department’s rate.

My overtime rate is $350/hr. My regular rate is $350/hr. I just don’t have to work post call and still collect $3500 post call at home guaranteed 10 hrs post call.

Many ways to skin the cat folks.

Other dudes facility is $450/hr overtime and $400-hr regular but they gotta work the next day or not get paid.
