So, I just added two of my evaluators onto AADSAS, and provided the email that Interfolio told me to substitute (over their actual emails). Now, I am waiting for the upload of the letters to happen.

1. For electronic submissions (like the one I just did^), I did not encounter any 'matching form' or anything that needed to be attached to the letters themselves (b/c they're electronically submitted). Is this normal? I coulda sworn there was some letter (similar to transcript matching form) that I needed to attach or possibly electronically attach! :/

2. Since the limit is 4 letters, Do I get to specifically choose (later on) which letters I want going to which schools? (cause I know schools have different LORs they want from different, and some don't even want one from a dentist, etc etc.). Can anyone please elaborate?

Hello, did you ask ADEA if you could do that? On the ADEA website it says we must list it as paper letters?

You were supposed to list them as paper. Go to the interfolio help section on their website and type in aadsas in the search and it will explain it to you

Thanks for you're replies guys, but what about this then? These are the "instructions" as soon as I click on evaluators. WHY DOES IT SAY "ELECTRONIC (PREFERRED)?"
- sorry if i'm dumb....but please help! 😛

Letters of Evaluation

Letters of evaluation are required as part of a complete application, although the ADEA AADSAS online application can be submitted while letters of evaluation request are in process. Letters of evaluation are traditional recommendation letters written by a person qualified to recommend a person to dental school.

Applicants may submit a maximum of four individual letters of evaluation or one committee letter/report plus the option of one additional individual letter. In the ADEA AADSAS application, the applicant should list the individuals who will write letters and the format each evaluator will use, and check the appropriate box to indicate if the letter is a committee letter/report.

Letters of evaluation can be sent in two formats:

  • Electronic (preferred).
As soon as the evaluator's name and email address are provided, the evaluator will receive an email from ADEA AADSAS directing him or her to the ADEA AADSAS Evaluator's Portal.
  • Paper.
The applicant provides the Letter of Evaluation Request Form to the evaluator, who attaches the form to his or her letter and mails it to ADEA AADSAS at the address provided on the Letter of Evaluation Request Form.

NVM. I just got off the phone talking to an AADSAS rep, and she told me that it is fine. Although their website says paper, as long as at gets to AADSAS, they will take care of what happens next. I even asked her about the email generated by interfolio for each of my evaluators, and the rep told me that is perfectly fine.

Just thought I'd let you guys or anyone else that was confused (like me!) know. 🙂

What's the point of using interfolio? Does it make it so you can manage which school gets which LOR? Or does it allow you to exceed the limit of 4 letters?

Thank you so much...I freaked out at beginning.. lol
I did the same thing. I chose electronically and I paid to interfolio to deliver them to AADSAS

Where do you go in interfolio to have them generate an email to put on ADEA or can I just electronically submit with my evaluators email and then send interfolio?

If you chose paper delivery like it says to do, it asks for an address...what do you put for this?

Do we know the answer to this?

I believe it's the institutional address of your professor or the address of your dentist's practice. However, since Interfolio will be sending it electronically, it shouldn't be so important as your letter writers won't be mailing their letters in.

I think I read somewhere on SDN that we don't have this option this cycle, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. For schools with specific letter requests, you can also check to see if they accept additional letters sent directly to their office. I wish we had this option though!

So did you have to electronically add the matching form for your letters?
