I recently took my DAT and took in my scores, by hand, to the admissions office. They wwre so friendly and invited me right there for an interview 😉
My scores are so-so (studied for 2 weeks), but everything eles on my application is PERFECT!
The earliest I could get my interview was on Dec.3rd.
Can anyone tell me some questions they asked.
Thanks a MILLION!

Don’t be worry at all…they are very friendly and nice. u have to do some paperwork before the interview( including essay question). My interview was very smooth, easy questions like, why dentistry, tell me about your research, what do u know about 7-day Adventist, what is ur relationship with G-d... search the interview feedback forum for more information…
Good luck

Wow! Congratulations! Now I wish I lived in Cali hehe. Best of luck to you! =D

I am sure that my performance during LLU interview was the worst among all my interviews so far.

were not easy to answer.

However, I think I made it!

But, the interviewer told me I looked so nervous, and made me even more nervous.

It was also stressful, because I had to talk, sitting very close from the interviewer.

TOO CLOSE~

And, the interviewer made one negative comment about my interview performance. First & last time to hear about it!

Again, I can apply "You never know" to this situation.

Yes, it's really really true! REALLY~

That's it!

Do uknow who ur interviewer was??
Mine is dr.lasard, i know him personally, but i think that means he is going to be harder on me ;(

How's your interview? Don't you think their questions were not easy?

Do u remember how their dental clinic looks like?

I remember LLU dental school is really a huge one!

The church looks awesome!

I am just curious if all of their patients are not permitted to smoke around hospital. 🙂

Hey, congrats.

How do you know who your interviewer is? I have an interview there and I would appreciate it if you tell me how you found out

dr lessard likes planes and motorcycles. if you can engage him on those topics, you're golden. seriously.

i know many people in admissions and the dean wanted me to have my interview with him. im sure if u call n ask they will tell ya tho

hey my interview is on the same day!! good luck, maybe i'll see you in the hall or however it works

not really...everythings good but my dat scores ;(..i took two full summer sessions and went on 3 mission trips (one out of the country) so i only had 2.5 weeks to study for it..and my score of 18 reflects it...i dont wanna take it again!

SoCalBlondie- Just be yourself and answer honestly. Integrity is held in high esteem at the school. Sounds like Dr. George Lessard will be your interviewer. Good tip on the planes and motorcycles. If I remember specifically it is sailplanes (gliders). I took pre-dent biochemistry from Dr. Lessard and did research for him my first year of dental school(many, many years ago) Good luck.

Yes I agree with Dr.Mitchell, integrity is very essential in the selection process.

From my experience, they look for people who show a lot of integrity and are giving, positive, and genuine.

I am thinking maybe if someone will be interviewed by Dr.Mitchel, then it would be a good idea to know about boats, cars, and some Deep Purple songs hehe.

Best luck everybody!

I appreciate you input very much!
Growing up in the Inland Empire and serving this community my whole life, I really feel that Loma Linda is the best school for me. Also, being SDA and having the opportunity for my spiritual life to grow is a definite plus! I really believe that my mission in life is to serve others and I would be honored to go to Loma Linda and have the chance to represent the Adventist community.

P.S. I am pretty close with Dr. Novy and I know he works with the IDP as well. Might you know him? If so, please tell him Amanda Douglas says hello J

LOL, I don't think they'll let me anywhere near the interview process Samy, there's a good reason I'm a clinical instructor.......... Oh and don't forget Queen, Boston, The Eagles and Chicago😀

Sure thing Amanda, I'll probably see Dr. Novy at lunch tomorrow, we have a restorative department staff meeting. I'll tell him hello for you. He teaches some pre-clinical courses to the IDP students but unfortunately doesn't get up to our clinic very often. He's very knowledgeable and is doing some very interesting research on saliva and caries.

I know, i love his passion and knowledge for dentistry! I have been to a few of his restorative lectures as well as to his private office. I have also had the pleasure to have been to many compassion clinics as well as mission trips through MEND. He is my inspiration!

My fiance is a 3rd year as well, his name is Justin

Dr.Novy rocks!!!

His lectures were really of the best we had in the program, his course increased my knowledge about so many materials we use in dentistry.

Best luck everyone.

This is a great resource, thanks Dr. Mitchell!👍
I just was wondering if you could also tell me something about Dr. Kenneth Wright... Thanks for the help. 🙂

I interviewed with Dr. Wright. He's a super nice guy. He is an anatomy professor, so I wasn't quite sure what would "impress" him. But it went really well; we interviewed/talked for nearly 50 minutes. Very conversational.

Dr. Wright is one of my favorite professors, and he is extremely easy to talk to. Keep it light and don't be afraid to crack jokes. He doesn't take himself too seriously. best of luck.

Wow..the thread's really opened up over the weeekend with lotsa good advice! My interview is at 2 but I'm not sure who it's with. SoCalblondie....are you sure you're not in yet- seems like you're a D1 already!!🙂

hahah i wish..ur right after me mines at like 120..ill see ya afterward

I'll have to defer to eventualOMFS on this one, my interaction with Dr. Wright has been very limited. He's not old enough to have been one of my instructors when I was in school🙂

Thanks for the replies.
I will be there on nov 19th. Anybody else same day?

Laid back interview, nice school, nice people.

Good luck.

I have my interview at LLUSD on Dec 2nd with Dr. Golden. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time because LLU is one of my top choices and this is my first interview. Does anyone know who Dr. Golden is and how I should go about preparing for the interview? Many thanks.

Dr. Golden is a long time professor in the restorative dept. He is very nice, soft-spoken and low-key. Just be yourself and honest, integrity is valued. Good luck, if you are sincere it will come through.

Thank you for your reply, LLUProf! 🙂

I'll see you walking out of the interview with a big smile on your face i'm sure.🙂 Maybe you could mention 'the next guy' to warm him/her up for me

The Associate Dean for Admissions is Dr. Fred Kasischke (pronounced kuh-zis'-kee 🙂) Also known in some parts as "Dr. K"

the director of admissions is Esther Valenzuela, RN, MA, MBA. very nice lady who seems very personal. i had my interview with her early nov. and i couldn't have been happier after it!

Hey guys, just joined the SDN.

You can just call and ask who your interviewer is, I called and they just told me. 🙂

Out of curiosity, what day is everyone's interview?

Mine was suppose to be 12/3 with Dr. William Hooker, but he had to attend a funeral thus was pushed back to the week after....

Thanks!

Has anyone interviewed with Dr. Golden? What is he like?

I strongly agree to Dr.Mitchell, the very essential in the selection process is the INTEGRITY.

They seek for individuals who show a lot of integrity.👍

Hi everyone,

I have an interview with Loma Linda on Dec 8th, I called them today and they told me that Dr. Fred Kasischke (the dean of admissions) will be interviewing me. I was wondering if anyone can share with me some information about him and how his personality is like. Anything will be of great help.

thank you veryyy muchh

I interviewed with Dr. Golden, who was very friendly and informative. However, I came out of the interview stressed and worried. The reason was not because Dr. Golden grilled me with questions. In fact, he barely asked me any questions. We talked about my family and went through my application for about 5 minutes. For the remaining 25 minutes, he talked about the school and the opportunities students have at LLU. The "interview", if you want to call it, was very conversational and laid back.

My guess is that he felt he knew everything there is to know about me. I think he read my application thoroughly, but I really wished he asked me a couple of questions.

After talking to Dr. Golden, I spent a lot of time talking to their students and the admission staff. The biggest impression that I got is that the faculty at LLU truly cares about its students. They also seem to have a very tight student-faculty network.

For those who had an interview with Dr. Golden, how did you interview go?

I have mine on Dec 9 at 11 am. This is my first interview so the pressure is on. Is anyone else interviewing on that day? Do you guys know how many people in total they interview for those 95 spots?
