Hi everyone. I am applying for this cycle. I have a spiritual leader letter of recommendation but I cannot send it to them until they ask for it with the secondary app. because AADSAS only allows 4 letters of rec. to be uploaded. Is this ok, or will it hurt my chances? Also I am catholic, and wondering how this affects my acceptance to LLU? Any advice would be really helpful!

Last year, I did receive an interview without spiritual letter, although it is required to be matriculated, based on the conversation I had with dean of admissions. If you go their website, and look at their admitted students statistics, I think only 4 people that are catholic got in.
Majority of matriculants are SDA.

Hello. I also applied to Loma Linda and remember going through this process. Why are you concerned this will hurt your chances? You are following directions. The letter from the spiritual leader is submitted only when asked for it in the secondary application. Yes you are ok. Now you just have to be patient and wait for the Lord to open the door. Yes being catholic will help.

You're not supposed to put the spiritual letter on AADSAS and it doesn't matter if you are catholic.

So what do they mean by spiritual leader and why do they ask for one. I'm actually not a Christian, so would that hurt my chances? What has to be written on the spiritual leader letter?

When does the suppl come through?
It says when the admission officer contacts you, you should:

supplemental app w/ fee
reference letter from spiritual leader
all international transcripts (if any)

So does this school accept Christians only. I'm not a Christian, so would that hurt my chances of applying? And a reference letter from spiritual leader--what does that have to say in there by the leader?

They don't only accept Christians but they mostly accept Seven Day Adventists. I heard they usually accept 70% SDA and the rest is open. BUT they do have many rules and regulations that most schools do not. For example, you cannot have caffeine on campus, and you cannot drink throughout the 4 years you are attending the school. Also they are religiously based, so they do perform certain religious activities every day. Just some things to think about.

How do they know if we're religious on the AADSAS application? No where does it even ask for a religion.

So, no shotgunning four loko to celebrate passing the NBDE 1? 🙂
