Loma Linda Application Process

I interviewed 3/17 and I have not heard anything yet. I read that most people get their acceptance calls the next day (?!) I am praying day and night...*Sigh*

Wow its only been 2 days! U made it seem like u waited for a long time hahaha. Dont worry they are all meeting tomorrow and will give us the verdict soon. Didnt they tell u after all the interviews?

Jillojillybean, since uve already been accepted elsewhere, is LLU considered as one of your top choices?

Meowmeow, I have a deposit down at MWU-CPG. MWU-CPG left a really good impression on me and I really really like the school, but I also want to stay in CA. I'm on "Active Consideration" at USC, so LLU is the only other Cali school that I interviewed for and might still have hope for. At first I was unsure about LLU, but after the interview I thought it was a nice school and I am considering going there (if I am accepted).

I think this means you're waitlisted. It's probably the equivalent of USC's "Active Consideration" list (which I am currently on). And this means you'll just have to wait and be tortured. It means that they aren't rejecting you, but can not accept you at this moment. If an accepted student decides to forfeit his/her seat in the class you could possibly be pulled of the alternate list and be accepted into the program. So, now you just wait...keyword WAIT. LoL. Just a little warning, you might start having dreams about being denied or accepted into the school (like me for the past 3 months!)

FYI I just called Loma Linda to see if they got the results from the interviews that was held last two weeks. Bad news for those who are still anxiously waiting... Friday's meeting was cut short due to some problems with their system and will meet again tomorrow morning. So, I guess we won't hear from them until Tuesday afternoon? (It's definitely better than a rejection though..hehe)

My first choice is USC (i really do like their program), then LLU (i am pretty religious), then Western.

Has anyone gotten back to their LLU application and looked at the "additional info" section? I'm not sure if I noticed it before, but there is an "upload photo" button. Does anyone else have that? When did that pop up because I checked it a week or so ago and dont remember seeing it.

I noticed that too. I pretty sure that the "upload photo" button wasn't there when I sent in my application last year. Maybe it's for the adcom to use? They did take our pictures. Also, since you got accepted is there anything different about your application when you log-in? Apparently, they didn't make a decision on my file because of the problems they were having.

Thanks pharmacyonline! Well my application on the LLU website still looks the same as everybody else's since we all have that upload photo button now. And they called me around 10:45am.. they probably do not want to call ppl too early or something?

In bold, there is a link that said "registration information"... remember, your pin was given to you in the snail mail for financial aid. I changed mines though cuz it was too hard to remember. I think that link is new and some other ones like LLU email address, etc etc.

Sounds like it's a total 100% requirement with zero exceptions.

I emailed them about this and they said that one letter must come from a religious/spiritual leader. Ended up not applying there because of that requirement...

they kinda snuck that one in there since last year i dont think they required that...

if you were like me, you wouldn't have known until youd already submitted your 40 dollars to PharmCAS to get to the supplemental.

luckily I'm close to my college pastor at my church.

First of all, if you're not the kinda dude that likes going to church or lives a traditional Christian lifestyle you're probably not going to like attending this school. I'm just saying-I've heard some students whining about their schools religious requirements because it aint their bag.

If you think LLU is a good fit and you need a pastors lor-I would just ask one. Well, the pastor would only have known you for 10-15minutes right? Yeah, but if you sincerely explain your past, your goals, how your spirituality comes into play, and so on he or she can get an honest feel for your character and write a good lor. Sure, it may not be as strong as the next guy whose pastor has known him/her his whole life but it should be good enough.

When you finished turning your supplemental, they will start checking for the required items. If you didn't have it or forgot to do it they will send you an email to confirm the missing items. Therefore, you need to have the recommendation letter. No way around it.

Loma Linda should be the last school you would ever apply to. Better yet, don't even apply there at all. I'm Christian and even I absolutely regret going there.

Of course, I did my research. You can study earthquakes all you want, but you still can't predict them.

The point was, all you're saying is don't go, you regret it, but no concrete examples as to why. Why do you regret it? Perhaps your reasons aren't good enough to dissuade others from going there. Perhaps they are. But to blankly say don't come here and give no reasons (good, bad, or otherwise) gives you no credibility.

For those who are P1 at loma linda school of pharmacy, how do you guys like it . I got accepted to the class of 2014 class too but I chose to go Butler University College of pharmacy instead. So just curious how u guys like LLU so far?
