Please let me know (Anyone out there) who is going to Loma Linda. I will be starting the DPT program at LLU in June 2018. I am planning to move there in June 2018 before class starts. I am looking for apartments and female roommates. Please let me know if anyone is looking for roommates (friends as well) who are planning to go to Loma Linda and living there.

I am so excited to see all of you guys. Good Luck!

Just got accepted into Loma Linda University today for anyone who is waiting to hear back from them. Just keep checking your emails.

did Anyone get in last year from waiting list? Does anyone know?

I was accepted over Thanksgiving! Still waiting to hear back from another school, but there's a very good chance I'm going to pick LLU 🙂

I got accepted! I am waiting to hear back from another school since I'm waitlisted there but I'm still making preparations to attend LLU incase I never get taken off the wait list.
Is anyone here wait listed for LLU?

I am! Just received my letter yesterday. I wish I knew where I stood on the waitlist so I can gauge my chances of actually getting in.

I’m waitlisted too 🙁 anyone know how many people they usually waitlist?

I am waitlisted as well. If anyone finds out how to know where we are ranked on the list that would be great! Did anyone get in last year that were waitlisted?

I know how it feels to be waitlisted. I'm hoping that I'll be offered a seat at the program I'm waitlisted at in order to offer you a seat at LLU. Let's not lose hope to where we wish to attend.
I think how often students get off the waitlist depends on the incoming cohort. There is no way to find out your waitlist number unless you emailed them and they tell you they are willing to let you know. It's frustrating as this was the answer I got from the other school I'm currently waiting.

I was accepted to LLU as well, I am waiting to hear back from one school, however will most likely be attending LLU🙂 Congrats to everyone else and those on the waitlist keep your heads up! I am sure when everyone hears back from their other options the wait list will start hearing back!

If I do decide to go here i will be seeking roommates as well! Maybe we could start a facebook group?

I am accepted to Loma Linda and a couple other schools. Right now, Loma Linda is number 2 on my list. As long as I meet my grade requirement of a B or higher in Biology 2 in April, I will be denying my enrollment. Hopefully, that will help someone out here.

Does that mean we have to wait until April? :nailbiting:

Those that were accepted, how many weeks did LLU give you to accept your offer ?

Pretty much, if somehow I don't get a B in Biology 2 then I would attend Loma Linda because I have met all of their requirements. Right now, I am sitting with an A. I am sure I will get a B or higher but this is just a fallback option.

Anyone else get in off of the waiting list?
I received my acceptance yesterday via email off the alternate list! Woo-hoo!:soexcited:

Is anyone planning on taking an undergrad Gross Anatomy class this spring to prep for the start of our program in June as LLU recommends? I just spoke to La Sierra University and they want $4775.00 up front for the class. Ugh. That was the only school LLU mentioned as having such a class. I am trying to find a comparable class at a state school.

Wait, can’t you take a gross anatomy class at any local community college? Shouldn’t run you too much. Definitely nowhere near $4775!

I applied for LLU last cycle and they mention not having a ranking system for their students who are on the alternate list. I was on the alternate list last year but haven't heard anything before their program started so I assumed that I was not accepted. I got accepted this cycle, and I believe being a re-applicant and strengthening your application made a difference.

Just decided not to put a deposit down and a spot should be open starting tomorrow. Good luck to those on the waiting list.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you decide to attend instead and why?

I decided to attend Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. There were a few things that caught my eye (this isn't me trying to bash LLU). I read about Loma Linda and how they are pretty cut throat if you mess up. Professors will write you off instead of helping you if you fall behind. Additionally, I don't want to attend mandatory church if I am in a program that is pretty tough to get through in the first place. Looking at the graduation numbers between the schools, I saw Loma Linda fluctuate between 82 to 95 percent. Compared to TJU starting with an 84 in 2008 and stay consistently around 98 percent after 2008. The upperclassman has provided some good feedback about the professors actually really caring about the students and is willing to work with students during the off hours to help you get through the program.

Both programs are expensive, but I have my GI-Bill to cover over half of the cost of the program. TJU offered me the Deans list scholarship where I get an extra 5,000 a year towards their program. At the end of the day, I will only pay 8k out of my pocket each year from TJU compared to Loma Linda's 13k. I am from San Diego which is pretty close to Loma Linda and quite honestly I would probably have enjoyed going to LLU. However, with the strict rules and higher cost, I decided TJU was perfect for me. I get along with my soon to be classmates (Facebook), everyone is willing to help each other get through, and it just feels right.

If you don’t mind me asking, where did you decide to attend instead and why?

Hi,
I am in the same situation as you, I was accepted into Loma Linda but waiting to hear back from one other school. By "making preparations to attend", does this mean you put down the deposit and have started the other admissions processes (transcripts, immunizations, etc.) already? I have already put down my deposit, but I am wondering if it's crazy to put down a deposit then change my mind later on? :nailbiting:🙂

That is not crazy at all. A lot of students put down deposits at multiple schools in order to hold their spots until they get the lay of the land after all acceptances/denials have been received. I am in the same positions as you both as I am still waiting on word from other schools, but since the deadline is soon for the deposit, I will also be putting down my deposit for LLU to hold my spot.

Not crazy at all, my friend put deposits at three schools but waiting for another.

Ok awesome! Thanks for responding so quickly. Just trying to learn from others how they are handling admissions/acceptance.

Awesome! Thank you for the prompt response. Like I told PTisLife, I am just trying to learn from others how they are handling the admissions process. I want to leave all my options open, but Loma Linda's deadlines were much earlier than other schools.

I have already taken (undergrad) Anatomy and Physiology 250 and 251 at LLU. The suggestion was made to take an undergrad level "Gross Anatomy" class to prepare for DPT Gross Anatomy. This type of class would only be offered at a 4 year university and not a jr. college. So, unless I find one at a state school, I'll stick to reviewing on my own and save my $. Heather said she would be sending us Anatomy materials to study for prep, thankfully.🙂

Yes, I did put down my deposit already. I still have yet to start everything else like sending official transcripts, physical examinations and such. I am waiting until Mid March to start those since I am still waiting to hear back from a school I'm waitlisted on.
I thought it was crazy to put down the deposit only to back out later but I still think it's a smart choice because you have now guaratnteed your spot incase you don't get accepted elsewhere. Besides, LLU was also one of my very top choices so I won't have my regrets 🙂

Yeah I was so happy that Heather said preparation materials will be provided 🙂!

Just got accepted for a spot at a program much closer to home that I will be happily accepting, which means someone off the waitlist will be receiving an email soon!

Does LLU have a research project at the end before graduation. Most dpt programs have this just wondering if LLU does or does not

Hi I was also accepted and will be looking for roomates towards the end of February ish! Hit me up if you need one im super cool LOL
