Loma Linda Interview

I got a letter from Loma Linda in my mail today expecting it to be a rejection, but to my surprise, I actually got granted an interview. Did anyone else get one? Also, how many people do they interview, and how many of those tend to get accepted? And anyone with any insight as to how the interviews are?

congrats!! 🙂 if you have an interview, you're sure to get in. they have a very strict filtering process, as most people are rejected without the supplementary. so if you made it to the interview i'd say you are pretty much in.

i am waiting for my invite...but it'll be a while before i get there.

oh that's good to know. thanks! 🙂

and just so everyone knows, i'm not religious or a regular church-goer. thus, i didn't get a letter of rec from a religious leader. i just got a friend to write me one about my character instead. so apparently it is possible to be granted an interview that way.

I also got an interview invite from LLU yesterday. I will be down there on November 14th, have you scheduled yours yet?

I just got the letter in the mail today so I won't be able to call to schedule until Monday.

Yea, I was excited enough that I took a long lunch in order to go ahead and schedule it. 😀 Nov. 14th was the earliest day they had available, but I think they are also interviewing the 15th and 16th.

CONGRATULATIONS!! seems like they are really getting in the swing of interview season!

good luck with the interviews guys! There aren't that many threads on LLU out there, so if possible please keep us updated.

I definitely will, hopefully I will have good news to report! You are right though, there are not many topics on LLU and a fair amount of negativity in the few that are out there. I don't understand that, you should know what type of school you are applying to before you ever get there for an interview. I am not SDA, but I do have a religious background, and attended a Nazarene University. For me, it is a plus that LLU is a religious university. Anyway, just my .02.

By the way, thanks for the good wishes, I hope you are successful in getting an interview as well. Keep us posted.

Yeah, I'll definitely keep you guys posted as well. I've actually been to LLUSD 3 times before so I'm already quite familiar with their school. From my experience, everyone (both students and faculty) is very friendly there!

agreed. there is way too much llu hatred, but its mostly from people who are fairly clueless about the school. its an amazing school with one of the best clinical programs in the country. not to mention the specalized fields. sda or not, they are not looking to convert people. they emphasize spirituality, and like you, i dont mind it one bit, and infact find that it enhances the educational process.

Did anyone get a rejection letter from LLU yet? I mean recently...after they sent the email that you're application was complete and under review. I hope i get the interview letter and not rejection one.

I would've liked to have my interview on Nov. 14th since Tuesdays are better for me, but it wasn't available so I scheduled mine for for Tuesday, Nov. 21st instead.

Too bad we couldn't have the same interview day, argid1980! 😉

False: LLU usually interview 300 people and there is only 95 seats aviliable in the class.

I got the letter in the mail today! My interview is on Nov. 29th. Late... I know but I'm traveling abroad until the 27th. I'm excited to visit the school. I'm sure the negative talk about LLU isn't true, but i can't wait to see for myself.

By itself that doesn't mean anything, perhaps they accept almost everyone and many people choose to go somewhere else...

That would have been cool, I've never met a fellow SDN'er (other than those I already knew)! Anyway, I'll try and give an update after I get back home. Good luck to everyone.

I'll be there Dec 20th. I just got mine 3 days. This my first interview too and LLU is my frist choice. I am so excited. The school is only 45 mins from my house. Good luck to all of you.

Just got the letter in the mail, guess ill call on Monday to schedule. The thing is, I know that they dont have the letter or rec from my priest yet, weird that they gave me an interview without that.
