I did a GYN Onc elective at LIJ. I enjoyed it a lot. North Shore and LIJ have the same chairman. LIJ helped created North Shore in their curriculum years ago. There was a talk that those two programs will merge but the Chairman stated firmly that won't happen two years ago. I don't know the situation now. LIJ is more academic than North Shore. Residents were all very nice to me. LIJ has hundreds of private attendings so one of the downsides is to get to know them and what each attendings like. Otherwise, I am not aware of other complaints.
