I, too, applied in October. Then in January, I received a letter stating they were now requiting letters of rec and a personal statement (which they had told me when I called in October that I didn't need) due to the overwhelming number of applications they received. I sent these additional materials but haven't heard anything since. I've received other acceptances, so I've sorta given up on them.

funny, i was wondering the same thing just today! i applied in jan, and shortly after received a letter from them saying that their space for transfers was extremely limited this year. i didn't take it as a rejection letter, but then again, i haven't heard anything else from them yet. i know that it wasn't required, but i sent in letters of rec. and personal statement with my app just to enhance my app. i'm glad mindy510 opened this discussion, if anyone hears anything, please let us all know!!

spoke with long island u's admissions office today- they said admissions decisions would not be made until the end of april or beginning of may

I applied to LIU too I received a letter saying that they need rec letter and a personal statement. But I think I changed my mind because I got accepted in MCPHS in Boston so I decided to give up on them !

I also applied to LIU, but as a transfer to the prephram program, not professional phase (still have lots of pre-reqs to take). I was just wondering which all of you applied to? Good luck to everyone!

I applied to the professional program (3rd year). I was told from LIU that they'll accept about 50 ppl this year out of 1200 applicants. My friends told me it wasn't hard to get in, but it seems competitive now...

Like some of you guys, I also received a letter couple months ago saying that we need to send in letter of recom., PCAT, and personal statement. But when I called them up, they said it's not necessary. So... I was a little confused... 🙂

Has anyone heard anything yet?

I called them last week and they told me that I've been put on the waiting list. The person, who I've talked to, said that they'll accept about 35 transfer students that usually have the GPA of 3.6 or higher....

That's what I've been told. I guess I'm just waiting for a rejection letter...I think it's tougher to get in those schools that do not require PCAT cuz they expect a very strong GPA...

Anyone has any luck?

I called the admissions office today and learned I was accepted 10 days ago. The guy I spoke with actually said "wow" like he was surprised anyone was accepted. So...if you haven't heard anything yet, call them! Maybe you've been accepted and they haven't bothered to let you know.

LIU only takes ~50 transfer students (students who finished 2 years of prereqs) ?

So, I got this weird piece of mail from LIU this morning. It's one of those envelopes with the perforated sides where you tear open one side and pull out the piece of paper. Anyways, it says on it:
Accepted Students:
Selection of classes for the Fall 2005 semester has begun.

Report to the admissions office monday to friday, etc.

So bizarre. Can't really make anything of it. Anyone else get this?

I caught one too. I didn't get one last year when I applied(last yr got waitlisted).. It seems like a positive sign either way.. 👍 👍

I called yesterday morning and they said: Congratulations and welcome to LIU... You've been accepted to the pharmacy program 😀 😀 😀
You will receive an official letter within 7 to 10 business days.

Last year I applied and wasn't accepted because I did not take Human Anatomy. I took AP I & II with labs, and Economics I, and re-applied.

In addition, I received the same notice some of you have received... "accepted students, selection of classes.... report to ... ". If you have received one, you must likely have been accepted too 👍

I'm very happy because I don't have to move to Boston anymore (I was accepted at Northeastern University), and I'll be closer to my family. It's only 45 minutes away from where I live right now.

Good luck everyone!

To all of you who have been acceppted to LIU: Congradualtions! I also applied, but haven't received any mail yet. Probably not a good sign, but I'll call anyway. I heard LIU is maninly concerned with gpa because they don't require anything but transcripts. What gpa did you have? Did you take the PCAT anyway, even though it was not required?
