Long Island Vs. Touro Manhattan DPT

Hello everyone. I was looking for suggestions from anyone who is a student at the schools and just in general about the two programs. I really liked the Long Island program and would like to attend, but at the waitlist at the moment. The tuition is another story from what I heard, around 140-150k plus living expenses. Hearing about loan stories in relation to our salary after graduation does not sound like fun repaying it. At the same time, I have been accepted into Touro Manhattan campus and the tuition is a little better at around 100k plus living expenses. But I have been hearing negative reviews from some people on this forum. So I am in a jumble on which to attend if I am given a chance to get in LIU. Any information will be appreciated!!

I have also been accepted into Wheeling Jesuit University in West Virginia, and the tuition looks similar to Touro, but they have a program based learning style instead of the typical lecture format, and I am from California so definitely not used to the rural setting. But the cost of living will def be cheaper than living in NYC. But I just don't know how I will be with a Program based learning curriculum and they don't really go into anatomy as much.

I'm also on the waitlist for LIU and got accepted to Touro Manhattan, which I am most likely attending unless I get accepted to NYU I think. I just messaged people from old Touro forums and they responded really quickly about their opinion of Touro so I'm sure they would answer any specific questions you have too. You could probably do this for LIU as well.

I was just accepted to LIU today as well, but it's so much more expensive than Touro. This is what the girl told me about Touro:
Hey! How's it going? Are you currently interested in their DPT program? I just finished my first semester at Touro and personally, I really enjoyed it.

But first, to be frank, going in I wasn't expecting much from the program since I haven't previously heard of Touro and it isn't quite the school everyone knows. Resources and facilities could be better. We recently moved to a new location so there were a few moving pains having classrooms set up and the opportunity to get settled. I came from the University of Pittsburgh and I was used to a large school that wasn't located in the heart of a large city with nice facilities. Touro doesn't quite have much of that appeal. It was a bit of a learning curve and a humbling experience coming to the city knowing no one and going to a school that isn't quite well known. I have to admit that I came to school with a negative attitude toward Touro.

With that said, once you get settled in and become friends with your classmates it really makes the school much more enjoyable. The classes size is intimate, you have classes with the same classmates 24/7 which allows us to get acquainted pretty quick. Professors really try to get to know you as an individual which is really sweet. What I realized, later on, is that the professors are the greatest resource at Touro. Libraries, anatomy models, and nice classrooms are a plus but at Touro you don't really get that-- which is fine, just know what you're signing up for because I have to admit it left me disappointed since I was expecting all the bells and whistles of grad school. All the professors I have met are brilliant individuals all who are well achieved in their respective fields. They all took time out of class to get to know us as human beings rather than just students. There was never once during my time at Touro when I felt like the professors were not available for me to ask questions, for additional help on a topic, or even just to stop and chat about life.
