I'm a P1 in the process of submitting my choices for my IPPE sites (both clinical and retail). Having previously lived in AZ and MA, I don't know the Erie, PA area too well and I'm thus unfamiliar with which clinical and retail sites are most highly regarded.

For what it's worth, I have a strong ambition of earning a BCPS in neuroscience.

Any suggestions appreciated!! Thanks!!

If Buffalo isn't too much of a hike for you (about a 1.5 hour drive), there are plenty of sites out here, including a pretty well-known neurological institution.

LECOM (if that's where you're going) has affiliation agreements with many of the places out here that you might want to do rotations at.

I would look at the Erie VA or Hamot Medical Center. It sounds like you're heading down the path toward a career in clinical pharmacy, and both hospitals have pharmacy residency programs.

Also, here are the current BCPS specialties http://www.bpsweb.org/specialties/specialties.cfm. If you are interested in neuroscience, you would probably either want to obtain BCPS (pharmacotherapy) or BCPP (psychiatry). Don't stress about things like BCPS/BCPP yet... You've got 4 years of stress left 🙂
