Looking for a good printer

hp laserjet 1020. I know that my dad said he tried to buy one for himself now but can't find one since i got this bout 2-3 yrs ago...Maybe used ones? But they're the cheapest for how fast it prints. It's even better than the "upgrades."

And idk what you mean by double side print, but you can put in your printed pages in again to get the double side...

I would highly recommend a laser printer as they seem in general to save more on the ink money. I also like the finished product better. Look for Labor Day sales at your local Best Buy, Fry's, Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, Walmart, etc. to see if you can find a good deal. For example, there was an ad about a month ago for a Brother wireless B&W laser printer for ~$70.

Need to ...

-Print double sided
-Save ink $$$
-Other good functions you may want to suggest

What printers do you guys use?

How much do you want to spend, realistically? Multifunction (scanner, fax, copier, or just plain printer), inkjet or laser, color or black and white.

go on craigslist, just beware the "naughty" solicitations, they tend to be cops

I picked up a Canon MP560 for $100 from Staples, although you can find them online at Amazon for ~$60 now (and the upgraded models for ~$100).

It does automatic double-sided full-duplex printing, although I haven't used this feature yet. I think the best feature is that it's wireless, which means I can stick it in the opposite corner of my room and print to it from any computer on the network.

I've printed quite a few (~10-15) 4x6" pictures, and the quality is really good; the software doesn't report a decrease in tank levels yet. Oh yeah, all the tanks are individual (cyan, yellow, black, etc), so you can replace colors as needed instead of unnecessarily in bulk.

It is a scanner/copier/printer. I used the copier function on it to make a color copy of my passport to mail to a med school for a secondary, and the quality was fantastic, I was really impressed with it.

If you're looking to keep costs around $100, I highly recommend Canon's MP series, and shop online to save more.

get a good brother or samsung black and white laser printer, you can even find a network/wireless one for around 100 bucks

if you dont mind spending a bit more look for one with a duplexer but honestly you shouldn't be doing THAT much printing at home that you need a duplexer on your personal printer

color should be out of the question because color toner is not cheap

the reason this printer (and all inkjet printers) are so cheap is because they're going to cash in when you buy those tiny super expensive ink cartridges. inkjet is a huge scam and is so 1990s.

Lexmark Prestige
1 cent per page

My ink is $5 instead of $30
