Looking for a more "hands-on" program

Hey guys, so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with finding a program that has more hands on experience. I live in southern California and currently volunteer at the ER, but am very limited in what I can and can't do. The only other position would be becoming a scribe, but I currently do not have the time to take on a part-time/full-time job. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any great programs that would give me a more hands on experience along with a better student-physician interaction. Thanks in advance guys!

You're a pre-med. You're supposed to be limited in what you can and can't do. You're doing this to prepare yourself to apply for the job that qualifies you to do stuff.

If you really are looking for "hands on" because the current work doesn't feel rewarding, then I suggest trying a volunteer job in a lower acuity setting. For instance if you volunteer at someplace like a hospice or cancer hospital, you can meet patients who will be there for a really long time and even though you're just able to bring them books, get them water, or help them read their mail, the duration of their stay means you will develop some relationship with the patients and their families.

Try a Clinical Career Extender internship. I know they are available in LA and SD at the very least since you said you're SoCal.
