First I want to apologize to everyone here for not updating what happened sooner...life tends to get in the way. Anyway, for those who don't remember, my first post is here

Since then, I ended up being admitted to a psych hospital (semi-voluntarily) in mid-August. It was then that my school found out and basically made the decision for me that I would take a medical leave, and told me that I could apply for readmission for the spring. 4 months into the loa and as it begins to come to an end, I think the school made the right decision. I wasn't ready to come back, and I needed time off to get a lot of things straightened out.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. I'm doing much, much better now. I'm on a combo of meds that's working really well for me, and I feel better than I have in a really long time.

Ok, on to the question:
In my time away, I was in therapy twice a week (recently gone to once a week) and I took 2 courses at GWU (intro psych and o-chem) because it's close to home. I received an A- in intro psych (don't even know how that minus happened) and a ****ty B- in O-chem. Considering that this is GW and not the much-harder top-5 university I attend, I'm starting to question whether I'm ready to go back. I already submitted my readmission application, but I won't hear from them until January and I'm wondering whether I should even accept their offer if they give me one.

Pros of staying at home for another semester are:
- extra time to get better and solidify the skills i've learned
- an opportunity to succeed in a less-rigorous environment (and hopefully raise my GPA) w/courses at George Mason
- time to finally get my driver's license
- time to establish a routine about getting serious about my health (I have about 50 lbs I'd like to lose...)

Cons of not going back in spring are:
- not seeing my therapist for longer
- not seeing my friends for longer
- taking longer to graduate
- being bored at home

I guess I'm not completely sure what I'm asking, other than what would you do if you were in my situation? I guess part of this is coming from a place of fear, where if I don't get readmitted for spring I want to at least be prepared. But another part of me is genuinely concerned about going back to that environment and questions whether I'm really ready. I feel ready (most days), but I'm struggling with whether to trust that.

Sorry if this is confusing or if I left anything out - feel free to ask if anything's unclear.

It seems like this is def a hard decision but..i think it may be better for you to stay at home for a semester but i would discourage you from taking courses that are heavy on the MCAT at home because like you said the school you are at is less rigourous. If you havent already..finish your basics at home and then transfer...you may even want to consider starting at the university in the summer to catch up!! Hope this helps and Good Luck!!
