Hey again,

I am the leader or my school's anesthesiology interest group. However I am neither an anesthesiologist nor a resident. Thus, when certain topics arise, I often do not know the answer. Hopefully you can help.

A recent question is about being sure anesthesiology is the right career choice. How did you know it was right for you? What if you think anesthesiology might be interesting and rewarding but also are concerned that all the hands-on stuff might get boring and not be the correct path?

Some students are very cerebral and just OK with their hands and aren't sure if there is enough mental stimulation in anesthesiology as opposed to the constant puzzles and mental challenges of being a hospitalist. I'll admit, I've had similar concerns myself.

Can anyone relate to these concerns?
