lHello, all! I appreciate you taking the time to read through this, and am looking forward to your replies.

I'm a senior undergrad in NYC majoring in Psychology. I've been considering where to go from here and I was hoping you could help point me in the right direction.
Some background information:
My GPA is currently average (3.5) although I'm working on bringing it up, and i have no research/internship experience. Although, I will be devoting the next year to gaining research and internship experience. I will be taking GRE'S this fall. I am interested primarily in adolescent/young adult mood disorders and relationship counseling. I would at a later point in my career like to own my own practice as well as teach. I have no interest in professional research.

I have been looking primarily into PsyD's but from everything I've read here, perhaps there's something better for me. Any advice on what programs I should be looking into?

As opposed to "amateur research? I would suggest not pursing doctoral study of there is not some legitimate interest in the scientific foundations of psychological science. It doesn't have to be your career, but it should be viewed as necessary component of doctoral training.
