I am looking at Phds in experimental psychology with a focus on music research or consumer research.
Can you get funded for experimental psychology programs?
Are they competitive?
Does anyone have any recommendations for schools or researchers that look at these two areas?

Thanks

Yes, you can get funded in Experimental Psych programs.
PhD programs are competitive. Experimental Psych programs are no exception. They may not be as competitive as some other fields, but they are by no means a walk in the park.
.... What are you looking for as far as music research? The first thing that comes into my mind when I hear Psychology and music in the same sentence is the Mozart effect....
"Consumer research" is also a fairly broad term.

There isnt going to be a program with focus on that, but will likely be faculty members that are part of general experimental programs that are researching in that area.
