To minimize debt, I would get a roomate. Instead of 625 a month for a 1 bedroom, 700 split two ways is 350 a month. I think it's a great idea for escaping with small housing costs.

People have apartment mates. As far as roommates, I've never heard of med students sharing the same room.

OMG when did you get into LLU???

CONGRATULATIONS!

Having roommates can really blow. Sure, it can work out and you can have some cool ones but you can also get one of life's biggest headaches by ending up with an inconsiderate (read "dingus") roommate. I've been there and am never going back. I'd only get a roommate if I knew the person really well to begin with, and even then I'd be cautious cause it's one thing to know someone but it's another to live with them.

even if you have your own rooms in a two-bedroom?

Yup. I had this one roomate early in my undergrad career that was a total idiot (he had his own room while I shared a room with another guy.) All he did was bitch everyday about how the place wasn't clean enough. He even made a list of chores that we were all supposed to do. My roommate and I never did it, of course. The stupid thing is, our place wasn't even that messy.

I don't know what he was expecting considering it was an apartment with 3 college guys. Did he think we'd be Florence Hendersons or something? On the last day, when he was moving out, he left us a note telling us how we were the worst roommates in the world and how inconsiderate we were. My comment to my roommate: "What a little bitch" and that was the end of that. I never heard from him again.

Oh yeah. I almost forgot. So that you know what a selfish fool this guy was, he had a 25" or 27" TV which he kept in his room while I had to put out my little 13" TV in the main living room. Talk about selfish!
