Surprisingly, I am in an identical situation. I have nearly the same GPAs and I had worries about it being too low. However, I have had friends that got accepted into dental schools, like NYU, with a GPA lower than yours and with average DAT scores. I don't think taking extra classes would hurt you if you do well in them.
