Hi all,

Just a bit about myself. I'm a senior in college and I'll be graduating in May. I've been accepted to BU dental where I've paid a deposit, and am waitlisted at Nova. I havent heard back from Maryland after interview (Jan 9th). I'm very excited to attend BU, but I'm also trying to figure out the best way to pay back my loans. I have no undergraduate loans to pay back either. I save almost everything I make, and plan to live as cheap as possible when in Boston.

Luckily, I have a job after school making good money (mid 6 figures to start) and I also don't have to take out money for a practice which is huge. I've been looking into the NHSC scholarship as well as the loan repayment program for after school. Would it make sense to look into this route or should I just look at paying it monthly like a car payment? I've also considered the navy, but I've talked to some people who didn't like their decision and think it would be stupid as I'll be making decent money. Any input would be appreciated. I've been making 9 dollars an hour my whole life, so obviously the cost of tuition is an eye opener. It's not that I'm afraid I won't be able to pay my loans back, its just that I'm looking into the best options I may have when graduating. Thanks!

It is late for a 4-year HPSP, but if you want a 3-year, contact a recruiter now and start the process. Check out the military dentistry forum to get a glimpse of what the daily life is like as a dentist in the Navy.
