Bachelor of arts undergrad 3.2 GPA. Columbia pre-med post-bacc program 3.1 GPA. MCAT 32 R. Tons of volunteer experience. No research experience. Applied to 10 schools, rejected from all except 2 - 2 interviews at osteopathic schools. Waitlisted at one osteopathic, (UMDNJ-SOM). At second (WVSOM), late in sending a DO recommendation letter - when school finally received letter, admissions process is over - except for Special Sessions, when my application/interview may still come up.

What should I do? Reapply next year to more DO schools? Take a science course this year like physiology or biochem? Move on to something else- ideas?
I looked up Physical Therapy but it would require some classes I havent taken, in addition to GRE and 100 hr of shadowing, which would mean I would miss the application deadline for next June's matriculation and have to wait another 2 years before even being able to start with that. In the meantime, feeling useless.

Advice?

Well i think you should apply more broadly and early to D.O schools. Since you have already done a post bacc and did not do so well, i say your chances for MD are slim.however, if you still want MD, you can always look into SMP and do very well on that. good luck though

edit: for more input, move to wamc

if u got interviews, stick with it and get ur app and letter in EARLY next cycle. personally, i think your mcat helps offset the low gpa, but not entirely. If you dont get in, do your best to fill the research/shadowing void in ur app during ur year off. if youve already done a post bac forget taking more classes, work on the EC portion of your app. with your mcat you shouldn't be thinking phys therapy quite yet. MD isnt gonna happen with ur gpa, but DO schools will like a 32 R.
