  1. Pre-Optometry
I'm having one of the optometrists I work with write me an LOR. When I was adding this contact to optomcas. I answered the questions:

Do you want to waive your right of access to this letter of recommendation? Yes.

I authorize this Recommender to comment on my academic performance (i.e. grades)(FERPA Act): No.

In my haste to finish my application I thought: well we work together and my academic performance is never discussed so obviously there is no need to comment on it.

I was rethinking my application before I submit it and now feel like I should have just said yes to the latter question. Do you think this is a big deal ? Like in my interview am I going to be grilled on why I didn't let the O.D. comment on my academic performance but I allowed my professor comment on it in his LOR??

:scared: I can't wait to send this app off so I can stop oscillating between being meticulous or being neurotic. lol.

just waive your rights for all the letters. it looks better that way. 🙂

Can I just delete the entry and re-add the reference again? They haven't submitted the letter yet.

yeah, you can delete and readd them.

I answered the same exact way for the two optometrists that I worked with that wrote me letters. If they know nothing about your academic background, then you shouldn't authorize them to discuss it, in my opinion. I don't think this will reflect negatively on you- I got in.

That is what I did. Waived my right, but I did not think the optometrist should discuss my academics.
