yo dents & pre-dents,

one of the schools i'm looking at requests that three LORs come from professors, of which two are from science profs.
I have two LORs from science profs, but my third and fourth letters are from a research supervisor & the school's predental adviser. is it a big deal if i'm missing one letter from a prof? i emailed the school like a week ago but still haven't heard back. personally i don't think it's a big deal, but i don't want to ruin my chance at admission over a letter, especially because my stats are pretty good.

I thınk your best bet at thıs poınt ıs callıng theır admıssıons offıce dırectly. Often emaıls get lost ın the heaps they receıve, a call ıs much harder to forget or ıgnore.

I would certaınly apply wıth what you have, though ıt's not unreasonable to expect thıs school or others to request an addıtıonal letter from a professor later on, whıch you could submıt dırectly to them. I doubt your chances wıll be ruıned ın eıther case, the worst they would lıkely do ıs put your applıcatıon on hold untıl you send another letter.

So on top of callıng, I'd also start doıng some dıggıng to see ıf you can get any professor at all to wrıte you a letter (assumıng you get a good vıbe from that professor and they remember you, though be prepared to gıve them ınformatıon about what you're doıng and have done to help them wıth the letter).

I had similar issues and just chose to ignore it. I didn't have anyone else to write me a letter so I couldn't do anything.
It seems like it didn't matter much. I got interviews from schools where I didn't meet the exact LoR requirements.
If it really bothers you, you should definitely call the schools like Kahr suggested. 🙂
