Hello all,

So, with regards to my situation, I am considering applying to an early acceptance program which requires 3 LORs (Flexmed). Two of these should be academic in nature with one from a science professor. One letter leaves open the possibility of a high school instructor or counselor. I am considering asking:
-my Freshman year Chem Professor/Research Mentor
-my Freshman year Chem Lab Professor.
-my HS Junior year APUSH Teacher.

The only things that worry me about this is that:
A) I transferred to a different school than the two professors after my freshman year. I still feel like they would be willing to speak well on my behalf, but I am worried about how they will view me just asking them even though I dont go to school there anymore. I asked the first prof over the summer to do an LOR for my hospital job, and I got it, and was told my LORs were very good, if this makes any difference.
B) I am worried how it may look having a HS teacher in addition to two professors who are at a different school currently.

Any advice on how I should proceed? I haven't developed any relationships with my professors at my new school yet, so I doubt any would write a LOR for me. I am considering not even applying due to this.

Thanks for any help you can provide

Any possibility of a physician LOR? Letters from freshman Profs might not be viewed as strong endorsements. Having said that, your stats if they are good in upper level courses will probably hold greater weight than LORs. If you have done well, in say Physiology, that prof should be willing to at least mention that. I would work on developing relationships with Profs at your current school to see if you can get LORs , even if after your application is sent in. Some schools might not accept LOR updates. Early acceptance can be a little tricky and is school dependent. Good luck and best wishes!

Flexmed apps are due in November, and I assume interviews start in March. I will have been at my current school for about 1 semester by app due date. I am trying to get started with my bio professor on some research so hopefully that will be one. I also worked for my Nephrologist mentor over the summer, and he knows me well. I feel like it would be a good letter since he was an employer in addition to being someone I shadow.
