So I just finished o-chem I with an A, and the first time I took it I actually did alot worse. Should I get a LOR from the professor or not? I know he likes me as a student, but we barely know one another. I am taking o-chem II now with the same professor. I am just afraid that if I ask him for a LOR he will send the "form letter". Should I even bother asking for one?

Thanks

If you know him enough, ask him if he will write you a STRONG recommendation letter. If you have other options and would rather not risk, then go for the other options. Otherwise, even a form letter is not the end of the world. All my recs were probably form letters and I got in!

I'm in almost the exact same situation as you (search for other threads about LORs, I just started one and commented on others today http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=416348). The only problem for me is my prof isn't teaching the second half. I'd like some advice also.
