hi all,

suny requires a LOR from our uni's pre-health committee, but i failed to apply to get an interview from the one at my school. their website says that if your school has a pre-health committee but you can't get a LOR from them, you should get them to write a letter as to why they did not write one.

so how bad would that look if my application had a letter that said "blah blah did not get a LOR because she didn't apply for an interview with us" ? 🙁 and i'm not sure as to how my other LORs will be, as i don't have much of a strong (or any, for that matter) relationship with many of my professors.

i don't want to waste money applying if it's going to be such a long shot. my application isn't too great (for suny standards imo), gpa is around 3.2, practice OAT was 300, a couple extracurriculars.. i think the only thing i have going for me is that i've shadowed 3 optometrists so far, one of them being a vision therapist which is what i want to get into.

any thoughts on this would be much appreciated. and happy july 15th to everyone who's been waiting for optomcas to open up 😉

Pretty bad. Suny is one of the few that really really want the committee letter, and you pretty much just failed to get one.
