LoR from Bio Prof. OR extra curriculum?

Hi, I have a question about dental school recommendation.

I am getting one from my school's dental committee
(since it is pretty much equivalent of 2-3 science teacher's Lor)
and second one from a dentist (faculty of my school's dental school)

for the third recommendation
I am thinking about it getting it from either my Botany prof. OR my extra curriculum provider/teacher.


I am a leader of a unique christian group (more like a charity for college student affiliated with local church). It is run by adults who wants to provide to local college students. I was asked to be one of student leader and I lead this group with one other person. (but the adult - who is working to be a pastor-are the real leader). I want to ask this person to write me a LoR because I know this person will write me a really strong recommendation.
He knows that I am diligent, responsible, loyal, committed, outgoing, deep, mature, and that I have leadership.

But dental schools don't ask LoR from extra curriculum activities and this person knows little about my academic ability.

In the other hand, I know this botany class prof.
I was getting B in his class so I start going to every singe of his office hour and asked him questions and learned more and I got 98% in the class at the end. I am sure I was one of best in his class (Everyone was happy to get C in his class since it was so hard).
I think my prof. knows that I am ambitious, hard worker, smart, wants to be a dentist, outgoing.
He knows me academically but I am not sure he knows me as a person. Also I am not 100% sure he will write me a good strong recommendation.


I am sort of stuck between who shall I ask for LoR. I need to ask soon since i am applying this June.

Or should I ask both of them??

It seems that your school works different than mine, but I had all the letters sent to my school pre-health committee and she ended up writing 1 committee letter after revising all the letters that I had gotten from professors/dentists (Embyo, O.Chem + Dentist). If that's the same case for you, why not get the letter from both and send it to your committee.
IMO I think a handful of schools won't be taking your EC LOR. From what I remember, most schools required 2 science +1 dentist. I could be wrong and you should check the LOR requirement with the schools you are applying.
It's probably better to get LOR from your bio professor if you had to choose between those two. You can hand him a PS or talk to him and make him/her get to know you.
