LOR from physician...required?

I know its not "required", but does everyone get them? I have two from science, one from non-science, one from volunteer coordinator...do i really need one from a dr?

No, some DO schools require a letter from a physician (usually a DO), but MD schools do not. I got one from an MD, but it is because I have worked with him for 3 years and my work experience is a big part of my app. Getting a letter from a physician you shadowed or your family doctor isn't going to carry much weight with anyone.

I agree with rHinO1, don't go out of your way to obtain a physician letter. I didn't have a physician letter and it didn't effect my application (as far as I know 😀)
