So when I apply to DO schools is it a big deal to have the DO lor or can i get away with an MD lor. I personally know an MD and think it would be a better lor than from a DO that I only meet for an LOR

I believe you should get both. You want to make sure that the LOR helps you get into medical school so make sure the DO knows you. You want the DO to write a letter that will make you stand out amoung the other students applying. Even if it is just a character letter it should help. I believe the school where the DO graduated from will take his or her recommendation highly and can definetly get an to the interview stage as long as all other parts of your application are in order. It may even get you an acceptance. I hope you are accepted to the school of your choice. Good Luck!!!!:luck::luck::luck:

Some DO schools actually require a DO letter. Not sure how many of them, I would just look up the schools you want to apply to. If they only require a letter from any physician I would just get the MD one.

Do a bit of research and make your decision. Goodluck.
