So as I'm doing my applications I realize I have a problem:

I created an optomcas account for last year's cycle when I was going to apply, but then changed my mind for some personal reasons. I printed out the ratings of attributes for my recommenders to complete and on that page, there is an optomcas ID # on it. I sent the ratings of attributes and the actual letter to my LEO Account (letters of Evaluation Account) at my University. Now I have a new optomcas account with a new optomcas ID, which is different than the Optomcas ID that is associated with my LORs. Has anyone else been in this situation? What do I do?

Well the letters committee at your university still has the hard copies.. can you just ask them to cross out or white out the id and replace it with the new one? sounds like the easiest solution. instead of bothering your recommenders to fill out a new form just for the ID change.

That would probably be the easiest solution..., but I don't think they can make any changes to the LORs as that probably has many privacy/ethical issues. I guess I'm gonna have to call Optomcas, but they never much help! It seems really silly to have call my recommenders to fill out the exact same form when all thats different is the ID!

So i'm just gonna put this out there for anybody else having similar problems. I called Optomcas and they said I needed to have them fill out the forms again! I then called the schools I'm applying to, and they said I could send the forms directly to the schools. It'll cost a lil' more, but I'd rather do that than have to bother my recommenders to fill out the exact same form twice!
