When you are reapplying it seems that it is impossible to use the same LOR since the letter ID in the LOR that you told your recommender to put at the time was for the first application cycle. During the second app cycle letter IDs change depending on the random ID AMCAS gives. Is there a way to submit that letter to AMCAS without asking letter writers to rewrite/update?

Thank you!

If you used a service like Interfolio, you could redeliver using the new ID. Otherwise, your letter writers will have to resubmit.

Also, please consider confining application-specific questions to their appropriate threads rather than starting new threads. Consult the sticky at the top of this forum for links.

I forgot that there was a thread for LORs. Ill put it there next time.

Thank you mauberley. Im using interfolio, but I was wondering does it matter that the letter id in the LOR doesnt match the one that we assign when delivering it to AMCAS.

There should have been no need for your letter writer to include the AMCAS ID in the body of the letter. If your letter writer included it, I suppose it might be confusing to the reader, but it shouldn't cause a problem when delivering the letter from Interfolio to AMCAS, as the ID is only specified when making the delivery request.
