I don't understand the AMCAS letter service. It requires address and whatnot from my evaluators which I don't want to provide/ask them for. And my school (UW) has its own letter of evaluation service (LEO) so I had all my writers send my letters there. I was thinking of sending the letters from LEO to the AMCAS people, but I'm hearing all these requests for my AAMC ID and letter ID that the writers need to include?? I did not know this at the time since the AMCAS service is pretty new. Seriously, I have not spoken to some of these people in a while and really do not want to bug them for a rewrite just to include the d@mn numbers. If someone can explain the frickin AMCAS letter service to me, I'd really appreciate it. Can I just send my letters from LEO to AMCAS without the IDs? I guess it's better I'm finding this out now than two months down the road.

If your school can send those letters as a packet to AMCAS, just make sure the packet includes your AMCAS ID/Letter ID. Each individual letter does not need its own ID (as long as you are sending the entire packet to every school). I did this last year and had no problem...

List institutional addresses, not personal addresses.
Your best bet is to email AMCAS for further assistance: [email protected].

contact your writers, have them send it into AMCAS if possible, they will understand. if they no longer have the letter on file, then contact your LEO service and explain to them they need to forward your letters to the AMCAS service and need to attach your AMCAS ID.

this isn't an issue as long as you do it quickly and you constantly check to make sure they were done... cause people forget or make mistakes and that would blow your app
